Can't bring myself to watch. Started to DVR it and cancelled it. I've been becoming way too upset lately with these awful stories on the news (especially those with children).

Re: There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
I just turned it about 10 minutes ago, and I have to turn it off now. They're detailing the accident and I can't handle it. I can't believe they showed pictures of Diane's dead body. Its too disturbing & upsetting.
I don't even know why they made this movie. There are no answers. No one will ever know what caused Diane's behavior - what was the point of this?

So sad
Danny is an a$$hole. He said to his SIL that he's mad at Diane b/c he never wanted kids and now he's left with this (meaning he's left being a single dad).

Let me take his little boy if he feels stuck with him. He is an adorable little boy who needs all the love he deserves.

I know seriously! When SIL was talking about him in the end, it proves he's a huge a$$hole and even to his son.

Re: There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
I usually value HBO's documentaries. This one, I am sorry I watched for a number of reasons. 1) They shouldn't have shown Diane's dead body. 2) I hate Diane's husband. He seemed upset about his wife's death but never really seemed sad about his kids. Hearing he never wanted kids explains it all. Maybe she wasn't an alcoholic or a pot head, but regardless, she made bad decisions that day and killed 7 innocent people and herself. No tooth ache, head ache, etc can ever explain why she drank that much alcohol and had pot in her system.

I loved how they said she wasn't a bad mother. Guess what, she drove drunk and killed 8 people---SHE'S A BAD MOTHER!

You mean the fact she did umpteen amounts of laundry a day, or was always in charge of the situation, etc doesn't absolve her from any wrong doing ?!?!?
I'm kinda happy this was obviously a documentary that was intended to bepro Schuler, but now because of the end it all went to sh!t

Re: There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
The part I will never understand is how the husband pulls away in his truck with the dog and just leaves his wife behind in the van with all those kids!
That part makes zero sense to me!
I know it is difficult with that many miles to attempt to follow each other, but no guy I was ever with or my father or brother, etc would have EVER left their female relative like that! We ALWAYS stay near each other on long trips if we are in seperate cars like that. I just cannot get how a man pulls away from a woman with all those kids in the van!
Which leads me to my initial gut reaction about this case.....the husband said something horrible to the wife and pulled away maybe?

I don't know, to me that's not really a sign of anything. I am an extremely stubborn and headstrong woman. I would probably insist that my DH get going. Not a big deal to not follow each other for me.

Re: There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
This made me sick to my stomach. I had trouble sleeping last night. I wish they would have warned us about showing her dead body. My heart breaks for all the families involved especially the little boy who survived.

I agree
and add to this that they had made that trip numerous times so she knew the route pretty well.

Re: There's Something Wrong With Aunt Diane
ugh - the dead body....really?
I was totally confuse by the whole case, but I think the case the film put out was pretty logical and I can't believe the husband and SIL can't see it - total denial. They were the ones who brought out her dental records, they were the ones looking at the convenience store footage at her looking for pain medicine, they were the ones who said the bottle of vodka was there, they were the ones who said she smoked pot NIGHTLY!
It's too bad that she didn't stay pulled over until her brother got there.
I think they were trying to blame the PI, but the last conversation seemed pretty clear - he did his job. They are just in denial.
I can't believe how many people lucked out and didn't get hit!
