Thermal Drapes

Hey Ladies,
I'm a drape idiot. What exactly are thermal drapes. Do they really make a difference? I'm looking for our new place and I found ones I like but again I'm not 100% what thermal means. Thanks

I am clueless about window coverings but I am assuming that it means that they help keep out the cold drafts in the winter (and opposite in the summer). Chat Icon

They do, they help you save on energy costs.

Re: Thermal Drapes

I thought so but I was sure.

So they are def. worth it? Do you only use them in the winter even though I will have CAC?

Are they heavier and do they require different cleaning?

They are heavier. I'm not sure about cleaning though. We have a rental property in South Carolina and we have them there. They get cleaned once a year.

I'm not sure about the summer though, I believe they help then as well!

The best part about them though is that you can make your room really really dark!
