Thermal vs. Cotton Lined Drapes?

I know what the difference is between the material of each, but does the cotton lined drapes hold out the cold weather like the thermal does? Our bow window gives off a very small draft in the winter and I'm looking to buy drapes now for the winter. Should I only go with thermal or could I get the cotton lined drapes? We are getting our front door replaced, so that should help with most of the cold problem we had last year. Thanks!

i would recommend an interlined drape instead of one with just a cotton lining. the interlined panels have a cotton lining but they also have an additonal layer in between the cotton lining and the face of the drape which is heavy flannel.

I bought thermal drapes at Marburn a couple of years ago. They were a fraction of the price of other stores & they make a huge diiference!
