they changed my due date

Had my first appointment today. Based on my LMP, I thought I was 6 weeks 6 days. However, based on the ultra sound, the sono tech said I am actually 6 weeks. I have an idea of when I ovulated, but I don't know the exact day. The tech said everything looked normal and said she saw a heartbeat, but we couldn't hear it yet. The midwife didn't seem concerned either. Of course ,I made the mistake of googling and read all these negative things about late implantation and miscarriage. Anyone have any experience with this ?

First off, when they give you a due date based on lmp it's based on ovulating on day 14 and most people do not ovulate exactly on day 14. If you ovulate later on in your cycle it will push your due date back.

Also, it's normal to measure a few days behind in the beginning and the baby will probably catch up. Try not to put too much stock in this. It's normal.

This happens all the time. I was supposed to be 8 weeks with dd when I went for the ultrasound but I was 6 weeks. She is 2 yrs old now.

It's great that they saw a heartbeat! Try not to worry. Sounds perfectly normal to me.

Yes, I had a similar situation with this pregnancy. Based on LMP i should be due 2/17. I track O by temping, and opks. I know when I ovulated and am pretty certain of when conception occurred. Yet they changed my date to 2/20. I also had a late +hpt, after days of negatives. I also had a "low" beta of 31 at 13dpo. I also googled the crap out of this and saw the same stuff about late implantation and miscarriage. I'm 29 weeks now.

ETA - and, there was no hb at 6w2d, just a sac.

I was measuring a week behind at my first appt so they changed my due date. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and DD is measuring a week and a half ahead. Don't worry too much over this it is very common.

I walked into the dr for baby #2 thinking I was 9 weeks preganant (based on LMP) and was only 6 weeks. I am now 33 weeks and all is fine. I truthfully think they don't know for sure anyway it is just a rough estimate.
