Things to Do/Classes for toddlers during the summer???

I am trying to make a list of things I can do with my son this summer-planning ahead b/c I have the summer off and want to take advantage of the time we will have together. So far I have the following:

little chefs (kind of expensive but looks cool)
sprinkler park
bronx zoo
ecology center
childrens museum of brooklyn
childrens museum of manhattan (curious george exhibit)
childrens museum of the east end
central park zoo
free shows/concerts in Sayville
free programs at our library

any other ideas? I would love to sign him up for a class if I can find something that would interest him-the little chefs is a bit far for me but seems interesting. We tried the Little Gym last year and he didn't love it.

I figured if I had a list to go from I could pick one or two things to do a week. We also have a pool and I need to get him swimming lessons but I was hoping to find an instructor that would come to my home. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

I just signed up DS for mommy & me saftswim for 6 weeks. After that I want him to do the individual classes. I know thats when they learn a lot more.

I plan on doing everything you listed and the PP. Sesame Place, Hershey Park, Day with Thomas... I'll let you know if I think of any more.

Oh I forgot to mention, we did get season passes to Sesame Place-and we are doing a day out with Thomas.

As for the swimming lessons, do you know the price for the six weeks? Do you have to go in the water?
