Things to do in Boston for a weekend
What are some must-see. must-do experiences? We know Quincy Market, Boston Common, and other shopping plus the Freedom Train...anything else? We are leaving Fri. morning and returning Sunday afternoon. TIA!

Saturday night, after dinner, definitely go to this piano bar right across from Fenway Park called Jake Ivory's... there are dualing pianos and it's GREAT!!! The most fun I had the entire time I was there!!!

Re: Things to do in Boston for a weekend
Prudential Center ("the Pru")and Copley Square have good shopping and restaurants!
Loooove just walking around the Charles River.
As much as I hate the BoSox...you gotta go by Fenway Park. I haven't been there since 1998 or so, but I hear since all the winning went to their heads and all the bandwagon fans joined up (okay stop me This is in fun, people!) they've really built up the area near the park - lots of bars and stuff.
I haven't been to Boston in YEARS....I miss it! It's probably changed alot since I've been there. Best city to go to college in!
ETA: oooh a dueling piano bar?! They didn't have that when I was there! I woulda been there every weekend!
You probably gotta go to Cheers just to say you've been there- but you wouldn't be missing much if you didn't make it.
ETA 2: Oooh I keep thinking of more! JP Licks on Newbury street- yummy ice cream! I'm only going to remember my old regular spots though from 95-98....Newbury Street is like a mini-Rodeo drive, if you will.

It was great... we had a table of NYers and then everyone else were Boston fans... the money being thrown around to play and to stop playing NY, NY was INSANE!!!!! So much fun!!!!

OMG TOO awesome! I'm dying for NYC to have a bar like that! There are so many all over the country!
I woulda been in my element- a Yankee fan in Boston in a dueling piano bar! When I went to college there, the rivalry was pretty much dormant so I didn't get to have any real fun.

Go to the North End and just walk around. Find an Italian restaurant that looks good and just eat! My DH and I do that everytime we go to Boston.
