What's good to do in the city with a child that takes about 2 hours?

Midtown 14 months
I was thinking Central Park Zoo, but by the time we get there, we'd really only have an hour before it closes. I've never been to that zoo so I don't know if an hour is really worth it.

There is a petting zoo at the Central Park zoo that would be great for about 40 minutes. Its tiny!
Then you could go to one of the many playgrounds in central park and play there. Or you could bring a blanket and sit in Sheeps meadow.
Other options include the CHildren's Museum on 83rd b/w Broadway and Amsterdam, the Museum of Natural History on Columbus and 81st.
