things to do with visiting 7 and 9 year olds!
We have a 7 and 9 year old spending Thanksgiving week with us, and would love any suggestions on how to keep them busy! They are from Michigan, and this will be their first time on LI...
Actually, any must see sites for their parents to see would also be really helpful -I am just not the hostest with the mostest!

Def take them into the city... lots to do.
Go see the tree, shopping, see a show (there's so many for both kids and adults), American Girl (if either one is a girl), museum...

We are def spending some time in the city, but those sites seem to be coming more easily to me... Love the American Girl idea, the 7 year old is a girl, and she'd LOVE that!

On Long ISland, I would take them to the Children's Museum, Cradle of Aviation or the Aquarium.
There is also ice skating, roller skating, bowling, and Dave and Buster's.

I have a 6 year old  & 8 year old . If you're headed into the city, Museum of Natural History is very cool - they got a big kick out of the butterfly exhibit. We've also hit the Hayden Planetarium. You can go to the Vanderbilt in Centerport but it's laughable compared to the Vanderbilt.
Ice skating @ Rockefeller Center, carousel at Toy R Us or Bryant Park.
Central Park Zoo was also pretty high on their list.
On LI, my son had a field trip to the Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor & loved it. While they're chain places, they both love Dave & Busters. We've taken them to Laser Kingdom in Farmingdale when I need them to run around & get exhausted.
