Think I am getting a UTI - is this remedy OK?
I have a sono appt today, so while I am there, I will have them check my urine. But in the meantime, I would like to try to ease the pain. I used to get UTI's all the time when I was younger. And from the "doctor's book of home remedies" - it says to put about a tsp of baking soda in water and drink it - it works surprisingly well.....this won't harm the baby will it?

I had the mother of all UTIs in the first tri, and I took Uristat pills (ok'd by my doc) and they cleared it in 2 days!!!! I've never heard the baking soda one, but it seems like it would be harmless???

I'd say ask the doc when you are there today about the baking soda and see if they can put a rush on your urine sample results. If you have one they will prescribe and antibiotic for you. I had one at about 8 weeks.

Your doc told you to take Uristat? My doc told me that I absolutely could not take them. I was upset b/c they help the pain, but they don't clear it up as they are just a pain killer, not an antibiotic.
