Thinking of 2nd bday gifts for DD... wdyt of these?
Not these exact ones, but these are the few substantial gifts I thought of... yay or nay for a 2 yr old?
quad
magnetic/chalk easel
comfy kid chair
Any other ideas for "big" gifts?

Love all these ideas! DD will be getting a ride on quad from my MIL for her 2nd too! She rides my nephews now and LOVES it! She also has a chair and loves that too

My MIL bought that quad for my DS when he was 10 months old!! It's still in the box 1 year later. When we finally put DS on it, I told DH I want him wearing a helmet.
I like all the things you suggested. The easel will probably get the most use.
I have no idea what we are getting DS for his birthday this summer. I need some 'big' gift ideas too for my mom.

DS got a quad for his 1st birthday and he actually knows how to press the button on his own! He rides all over the lawn with it.I think it will be great for a 2 year old.

DS got the quad at 1 year also. He doesn't love it, lol but my friend's DD loved hers at 1 year.
If she is turning two I might even suggest a bike or scooter. DS likes both of those better than his quad now.
DS got a table and 4 chairs for his 2nd birthday and LOVES it. He does crafts at it, has snack at it, uses Play Doh at it.
He also got a recliner at 1 year and likes that.

I love them all - The Easle will probably get the most use. At 7 DS still uses his we do math and spelling work on it.
A helmet is a must with quad in my book even if its just to get her used to wearing one when "riding"

DS got the quad for his 1st birthday from my aunt and he loves it. He really just learned to use it a few months ago. But he plays with it all the time.

MIL bought that easel for DD with magnet board on one side and chalk board on the other and she loves it, plays with it every day!

My DS is a little daredevil. I think he's going to love it (once this darn rain lets up! boo!).

how about a trike, a playhouse, kitchen? I like the easel a lot and the chair. Liam has the pottery barn anywhere chair and he loves it.

My DD loved her easel for her 2nd birthday, it is perfect for that age. She played with it daily and learned the alphabet and to identify each letter so quickly (less than a month after getting it). So I def. suggest the easel for learning and the quad for fun.

She has a trike and a kitchen... we don't have room or a backyard for a playhouse. I'm going to look into that PB chair.

The Step2 Easel is awesome. DS loves it! Be sure to buy some extra "fat" chalk to go with the chalkboard.

DS got the top two gifts when he turned two and they were a huge hit! He's almost 3 and still uses them, I love gifts that they can grow with. Instead of a big chair we got the one that folds out to a couch but the idea is the same 
He also got a playhouse for outside and a water table around the same age plus a basketball hoop
