THIS HOWL-WEEN: WHO LET THE DOGS OUT???!!!! Sunday, October 28th 12-5PM Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor
Corky Nightingale Hosts Canine Costume Celebration to Raise Funds If you're looking to be part of this year's premier A-List fall event Cold Spring Harbor is the place to be Sunday, October 28th. A spectacular star-studded celebration will take place in the old whaling village when everyone's favorite Westie, Corky Nightingale, hosts her first annual Howl-ween celebration with an elite group of her canine friends. The party is being held in honor of Corky's younger sister, German Shepherd puppy, Maxie. All profits raised will be donated to support organizations focused on "rescued dogs and dogs that rescue" through NY Animal Rescue Foundation.
Canines from all over the world are planning to participate in this chic canine costume parade and "Paws for A Cause" festival. Spectators will line Main Street to see canines model their finest costumes as they march to the tune "Who Let The Dogs Out!" The parade will begin at the corner of Main Street (25A) and Spring St. at 12 noon and will end at Cold Spring Harbor Park where the canine celebrities will be greeted by "pupparazzi" as they enter the park on the "Red Carpet." "I'm so excited about Howl-ween that I can't stop my tail from wagging," said Corky, Grand Marshall of Howl-ween.
Howl-ween afternoon activities in the park will include:
- Woofstock: Featuring The Doug Gordan Band - Ruff, Rhythm & Blues Festival: Featuring the Tash Brothers (Sponsored by Nightingale) - Vidog Sasson Corner: Where canines and owners be groomed (Sponsored by MPH Art Salon) - Feasts for Beasts: (Sponsored by the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department) - Pupparazzi who will take "Glamour Shots" - Canine Costume Contests According to confidential sources, the event's guest list is a "Who's Who" of the canine world. Guests will include Pomeranian Opus, whose owner is Fashion Shopper for the Elite Dogs, Kathy DeLaurenzo, and Roxy Szcepanowski-Goldsmith who will bring her owner. 2006 Mrs. New York title holder, Lidia, to join in on the fun and festivities.
"Corky was looking for a way to help other canines who are less fortunate than her," explained Corky's mother, Alyssa Nightingale. "When she saw the conditions her little sister had come from she just knew that she had to make a difference in whatever small way that she could."
Though admission to Howl-Ween is free for canines and their owners, people can make donations to "Rescue Dogs and Dogs That Rescue" through NY Animal Rescue Foundation. For more information about the event, please call (631) 367-2565.
