This is the sickest scariest sh*t I've ever heard
Link to one student's text and audio during latest active school shooting in Colorado
May God bless today's school kids and teachers, because I would not be able to handle being a student or in a school building today. I would be begging my parents to home school me. This is the most TERRIFYING thing I've ever heard. Scroll down for audio. Put up the volume and listen with earbuds to hear what the 12 year old whispers. I literally can't stop shaking. This generation of kids is going to be scarred for life. And probably the sickest part is that this family survived the Vegas shooting in 2017.

On both my phone and laptop I can't play the audio.
On my laptop I can hit the play button but nothing happens.
On my phone there isn't even anywhere that indicts there is any audio.
And the CNN website is so riddled with ads its insane.
All i get is ads all around the article.

Yes, this one I could play, thanks.
I couldn't hear the whispering much at all- I might need headphones I guess.
But that alarm saying, attention please, lockdown, lock, lights, out of site gave me massive anxiety.
Over and over and over again.
They need to rethink that. These poor people are stressed out enough and then that alarm repeating itself over and over.
Jeez
I'm getting anxiety just thinking about it now

I think the student said I think they got him. then there was a whole bunch of talking I couldn't here. But then it sounded like the teacher was just telling him to breath. She was hella calm.
And I agree that hearing that over and over. That is something those kids will hear for the rest of their lives.

There's a male voice screaming in the background and then gunfire (can't tell if that is the shooter or cop), some scuffling, you hear the little boy whisper into his phone "I think they got him" and the teacher whispers "everything is going to be ok" and the whole time you hear the ominous lockdown drill repeat on a loop over the loudspeaker. He sent this recording to his mom. She said his legs and teeth were chattering the whole time in fear. I think I would've died. You need to listen at full volume with earphones to get the full effect. I was shaking just listening. I can't imagine those poor traumatized kids who actually lived through it.

I can't imagine. Getting those texts and hearing that! How scary!! 
My niece goes to a private Jewish school. I worry all of the time.
I can't believe nothing has changed. It's becoming weekly now...

Being this has become the norm... I feel like this past shooting was just a little blip in the news.
When it first happened, channel 4 had breaking news about it. I went to the news channels like msnbc and cnn and there was nothing about it but their regular programming.
I feel like being it wasn't a "mass" casualty it is not on the forefront. One child dead is one too many.

OMG
I just cannot anymore. Why is nothing being done????? How can anyone still cry about their ******** 2nd amendment rights when children are being killed in their schools week after week???? We live in a sick, f$&ked up country right now. As a mother, listening to that makes me literally tear up and want to go grab my kids from school. I just cannot imagine.

I think the news yesterday said the two guns were legally owned by one of their parents.
When are parents going to lock up their guns? It's nearly every day I read about an accidental or intentional shooting bc adults can't keep their guns properly secured. Something needs to be done.

Right? People are assholes. They should be charged in this along with their kids.
If you have a gun and don't secure it properly and your kid, or anyone, takes it and commits a crime, you should be charged as well.
People have no idea how to be responsible gun owners. It's disgraceful
