Do what is right for you. It sounds to me like this is what you need to do for yourself and are looking for some sort of validation that you're still a good mommy in spite of wishing things didn't have to be this way. Trust me, I was there once too. You ARE a good mommy. You have to think about both of your boys and about yourself. A happy mommy = a happy baby. Always remember that. NO ONE is judging you and there is NO WRONG WAY. just your wayChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: This isnt working.....

then listen, this is from my heart what I would do.

nurse. nurse all the time. don't worry about weight and scales. let your dr worry about numbers.

nurse and if you still think he is hungry top him off with a bottle, but only after you are done nursing, only after you feel you are going low and he isn't satisfied.

give him a few ounces.

if he gulps it down, great, he was still hungry and now he's not.

if he doesn't, they great, your nursing was enough for him.

don't worry about your freezer supply.

coming from me looking at my couch potato 2 year old, it hurts looking at your once active kid. are you nursing in public?

I would go to a park tonight, the 3 of you. calm down, nurse that baby, let RJ play. your supply will stay as long as you still nurse, but if you feel like its not enough, I would top him off at the end of feedings.

good luck!

You have time...relax.

Drink lots of water.

ALWAYS pump after your first morning feeding.

My supply was full until about 8-9 weeks.

When he is close to 12 weeks you will have BM pouring out of your ears, trust me.

Are you worried you won't have enough to go back to work? Honestly I didn't have that much saved up. I pumped during the day (at work) during her normal feeding times and that kept us going for a while.

Try exclusively BF for a little while to build it up more.

Im worried because he is starving and not gaining weightChat Icon

I think Im done pumping/done with the herbal supplementing...Im going to continue to nurse on demand and when he is hungry give him milk from my frozen stash...

If the milk doesnt come back naturally, then once the freezer supply is done, we will switch to formula...

I cant go on like this... my poor 4 yr old has had zero of my attention these past 4 days, and when he does sit with me, Im an emotional stressed out mess...

Yep- no problem nursing in public...

This is exactly what I was trying to say I was going to do in my other post...

Just nurse, and give him more from whatever I have stored in the fridge IF he is still hungry...

if my supply doesnt come back naturally, then thats that...

Thanks everyone!

Make sure you drink lots and lots of fluids. This really helped my supply.

Marissa....I know you have Ryan to take care of but maybe this weekend you can do what I think they call a nursing vacation.
Basically stay in bed with Braeyden all weekend. Do a lot of skin to skin. Nurse on demand whenever he wants to nurse whether it's for hunger or comfort.
DS nursed a ton and I know that helped my supply way more than my pumping.
