This might be a TMI post but this is really bothering me

Since having children, have you found that you dont do the deed as much? Its not that I am not attracted to DH but at night, I am sooo tired. I am up at 5am to get ready for work, take Jacob to daycare, go to work, and then come home and start the evening routine. By 8pm I am soo tired. Last night DH wanted to do you know what but I was yawning up a storm and I felt so bad. I told him that I was exhausted. He understood but I feel really bad. Has anyone gone through or is going through the same thing? Chat Icon

Parents Magazine had an article this month on this very topic.

They said middle of the nights helped tremendously.

Genna - I'll try to find the article for you.

I had this problem more when pregnant. I would encourage him to wake me up in the middle of the night (he was able to stay up until 1 or 2am while i was out cold) OR wake up early.

Now I'm just not that interested because as soon as I attempt anything for myself, someone is hungry or dirty...so it's kind of like "why bother?"Chat Icon

Would this be a good time to recommend that you need a "night off"? Maybe he can do the chores one night and you can take a nap before it's "time"

since DH has decided to NOT help me with the evening routine or middle of the night feedings/wake ups...I have decided that there will be no Nookie during the week.

Like you I wake up at 5am to get ready for work, get the kids up and ready for day care, drop them off at day care, go to work, pick them up from day care, feed the kids dinner, start bath time, get everything ready for the next morning, read James a bed time story, give Marianna her last bottle for the night...and finally around 9pm I'm done...meanwhile DH has been sitting in front of the TV for close to 3 hrs.

I don't even get to eat dinner most nights...so as you can imagine this is creating a war in my house.

yep...I do the evening routine too...DH puts Jacob to bed but I do everything before that. I dont get to eat dinner a lot of times too. If DH runs errands after work and doesnt get home till 6:30 or 7:00 I am just even too tired to eat. Chat Icon

opposite for us. now that I'm off the pill (after 10 years) and my hormones are back to normal, I have a much better sex drive. DD's weekend afternoon naps are a sure thing for us! After work is tough- we're both exhausted, of course, so I totally understand. Sometimes I just turn off the TV & we go upstairs. A bit contrived, but worth it!
