this might be a weird question, but...

how often do strangers come up to you and ask to hold your baby?

yesterday i was out w/a friend, and some older woman was complementing the baby, then she went to-oh ill hold him while u shop!

um...what??? no way!!!

then another woman was asking a BUNCH Of questions about the baby...so weird! what do u do?

i got so defensive-and it wasnt even my child!!

I have NEVER had that happen!! I'm pretty laid back about things in general, but that would freak me out and there is NO way a stranger would hold my baby

ETA- I don't mind questions too much, as long as they don't make rude comments about how you are raising your child!

We went out to eat last week and my DD was awake so I was holding her in one arm, eating with the other (what else is new ), and the owner of the restaurant, came over and asked if I would like for her to hold her while I ate ...I just said, "no, thats okay, I got it"..I know she probably meant well, but

It has happened to me a couple of times while shopping @ kohls & just happened last weekend ~ My hubby and I went to breakfast with DS and he was being a little fussy ~ we had this gentleman come over and say how cute he was and he wouldnt mind holding DS while we finished our breakfast ~ my DH was shocked & I told the man that we are almost done but Thank you! I think it is weird and I would never let someone I don't know hold my DS....
