I was one of the teachers in the test group for achievement and my students did really really well! I was to get a 3,000 bonus. But now, it is all gone. No bonuses! That really stinks!

I don;t work in NYC but don't see this system ( even defunct now) as a good thing
IMO- Its is never ok to make teachers compete for more $$$. These tests are BS anyway and it wouldnt be fair to teachers in low performing/economically challenged schools.
I think teachers need encouragment not competition to get their kids to succeed( and by succeed I dont mean godo ela/math scores)

The two of them are such a-holes. They made such a big deal about this "bonus" pay, got all of these teachers excited and caused so much controversy in the DOE with the plan and now that the work is done they rescind their offer? They make me so sick!

I didn't know I was one of the teachers until last week. The success that I had with my students is because of thier hard work. They need the ELA Regent exam in order to graduate and I had a 98% pass rate of above 65%. Those kids worked their butts off and we celebrated together!
The money would have been nice though!
