This year...

is taking a toll on me like no other... I don't know what it is either...

I have really nice kids in my classes, so it isn't that... maybe it's that I caught a cold two weeks ago that I'm still trying or shake. Or maybe it's that I haven't had a free period since last June since every free second I have is taken up by seniors and their college essays (since I cannot say no to them this year.) Maybe it's because I'm writing an obscene number of college recommendations again. Or that there always seems to be a kid in crisis who needs to talk.

I love this job. I really do. But I am SO exhausted, and I can't motivate to grade... it's not good...

I totally agree with you. I can't get into the swing of things this year. I feel like I spend every free period doing paper work or investigating things about students. We also have a lot of PD demands this year too which is tough...lots of meetings. I am sooo looking forward to the 3 day weekend.
