Those delivering at Winthrop....nursery
I know there were so many questions about bringing your mbaby to the nursery vs them staying with you the whole time
I gave birth on Fri at 9:33am due to bp issues I had to stay there until they could release me to my room upstairs. THe baby was with us the whole time. DH had him since I was in bed with a cathiter.
I got upstairs late that night after my bp went down. I had the baby stay in the nursery over night and he was not brought back to me until 9am. They asked if I wanted to feed him in the night and I said no. I am doing just formula I was not breast feeding
The next day I got him at 9am and he was with me the whole time until 9:30 pm. I brought him down the nursery and just said I needed rest myself. When I go home I will have the baby and a 15 month old and I said I need a break. They took the baby with NO PROBLEM
So if you are worried they are "pushing" the baby staying but I was able to tell them I wanted him in the nursery and it was fine!
So all and all I had a great experience in the hospital
Just fig I would let you ladies know my nursery experience this past weekend.

Re: Those delivering at Winthrop....nursery
thank you for letting us know. I delivered there in 2010 and I breastfed all day but let them forumula feed DD during the night so I could get a little rest. Glad we can do the same thing this time as well.

Re: Those delivering at Winthrop....nursery
I will ditto this....I had DD in February at Winthrop via c-section. Sent her to the nursery every night and since I am BFing, had her brought to me for feedings. It was a great experience. I was able to send her to the nursery whenever I needed to without a problem.

Congrats, and that makes me so happy to hear. I was so nervous about having to wake up to feed the baby after a csection.
Did they give you a hard time about formula feeding?
Did you get a private room?

Re: Those delivering at Winthrop....nursery
I recently wrote a review of my stay after a c/s there last month! I thought they were more than accommodating and offered to take the baby to the nursery at night, even though I did keep him with me the entire time. I'll see if I can bump my review for Diana, I did not get a private room and did not have a roommate except for the first night (I got the room at about 2 am and the other lady was gone the next morning). So happy I did not spend the money for a private room when I got one anyway.
