Re: Those people that put DC in nursery school at 2...
I started Sarah at 2.5. The first day she was fine. So excited to play with the kids, blah, blah. I was crying thinking about how I'd left my baby with complete strangers, it took all my willpower not to go running back in and bring her home with me.
The second day she was hysterical, even before we got there. When I left I could hear her outside the school with the doors shut and windows closed. I cried the whole way to my car, called DH from the car crying. (he was not that sympathetic - "that's what we expected would happen" - grrrr) They called me 15 mins later to tell me she was fine, playing and laughing and all that good stuff.
I was not allowed to stay. They said it only makes it harder on the kids. They are very used to helping the little ones through the transition. My friend stuck around for her son and kept peeking into the window on the door and outside the classroom. Her son kept seeing her and would start crying all over again. She got sent to the principal's office for a stern talking to.

Totally depends on the child. I started DS at 20 months and he is now 3 1/2 and still cries every single day I drop him off. He is fine the second I leave and the teachers are in awe of how he turns it on and off!

I was so nervous too, but at 2.4 she was ready. She does very well in social settings, playdates, mommy & me classes. A couple months before she was set to go to school I put her in 'camp'. It was 5 days only. I had to stay each day the entire time However just a month and a half later she was like 'lata ma!' She's almost 4 and still loving school

First two weeks were rough. I would pick him up early and then make it later and later.. DS is the youngest as a late May baby and loves school!

My son was fine the first day (he saw all the toys and just ran off; I on the other hand, cried!)
He cried every day after that and even made himself sick
