Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
I swear it's something new every day. I don't want to complain b/c I am extremely happy to be pregnant with #2 but man it's so different than with DD. I had very mild morning sickness with her, no back pain, nothing.
With this pregnancy I had extreme nausea the first 14 weeks, fatigue, gagging & dry heaving (which I still have at 16 weeks), back pain, now this morning I woke up with a shooting pain in the left side of my back/butt/leg I can hardly walk. It's laughable!
I'm also HUGE already, I'm 16 weeks but look 25 weeks!

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
My pregnancies have been very similar.......,and thankfully, uneventful. I am finding though that with my second pregnancy I am actually a little more comfortable carrying my son then I was with my DD but I think the main thing is with my DD, she was a September baby so I had to go through the summer swollen and pregnant. It's a big difference being pregnant in the winter, I like it much better!!!

Yes, but luckily for me it is the opposite. I was very sick with DD1, and this pregnancy I have not been sick at all.
I was showing much earlier too - by 18 weeks I was obviously pregnant, whereas with DD1 I wasn't showing until about 26 weeks I think.

very similar. the second one has been a bit harder with more aches and pains and I am more tired (probably from caring for a 2.5 year old and working full time) but otherwise pretty much identical.

Extremely different however I had twins the first time. This one is much easier but my belly is bigger!
The pain down your leg sounds like sciatica I have had it off and on this pregnancy. Luckily with movement it usually goes away. Also try to avoid sitting too much.
Hope you feel better

Totally different. First pregnancy I just felt gross the entire time, this time I was either really sick or totally fine until 12 weeks and after I felt great. I looked bigger sooner, but now am carrying smaller. I also feel totally normal and fine now in the 3rd trimester. I get tired chasing after a 20 month old, but nothing like the severe exhaustion the last time.

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
totally different this time around. I was sick for 18 weeks, nothing with #1. I was huge to start with this time but I think I have "evened" out now. The aches and pains are different. I'm more exhausted probably from being at home with a 2 1/2 yr old.
The sciatica pain is annoying but if you looke under my name I asked about it on here recently and someone posted a video link for some stretches to do and it really helped.

I know how you feel. DC is 2.5 and i remember feeling nauseous with DC1 and a little tired but this around I just feel awful...exhausted, heaving, extreme nausea...talk about showing! I am almost 10 weeks and I feel like I look like I am about 14 weeks!!!
I think before I really just went to work and came home to rest...whereas now when I get home from work dc1 want to spend time, i have to make dinner to make sure she eats etc....heres to hoping it gets better soon!!!

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
Congratulations!! My first two pregnancies were complete opposites. Luckily my second was better then my first, but I don't think it could have been worse then 9 months of throwing up every single day and constant nausea all day every day.
My 2nd and 3rd pregnancies were very similar to each other.
Oh and yes you show sooner with each pregnancy totally normal unfortunately.

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
I'm only 7 weeks in but so far so good. Except that I already look a little pregnant, which is ok except it's so early. I had no morning sickness with my DS and none so far either. I feel pretty good and sometimes I still forget I'm pregnant. I had a great pregnancy with DS and was active and worked until the last day - really hoping this one is the same way since I had 3 yr old to run after.

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
Yes, totally different. I had a fairly easy first pregnancy. Some ms, but it was only in the morning and gone by week 16. This time around I was nauseous all the time, to the point I was taking zofran 2x a day to function. It finally went away around week 17. This time I also have a horrible rash from the pregnancy. She didn't let us get all our shots at the Level II, nor the second time we tried, so I'm going back a third time to try to finish the Level II. Overall, this pregnancy is a lot harder. First time: This time: I think I'm in trouble with her!!!

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
Everything you explained I had with DC #1. I was sick every day from 4-8pm with my head in the toilet. I never slept well, my back always hurt,I could not smell meat for a good 6 months, I always had charlie horses in my leg...labor was a complete nightmare! Pushed for 3 hours with no EPI.
My second..I did not start showing until much later, carried very small, never had morning sickness, felt great!!! Pushed twice..he was out in 15 minutes! Glad I got it over the first time around, not sure how I would have handled all that while having a toddler running around. Hopefully you will start to feel better soon!! I lived on lemon italian ice..maybe it will help?

Re: Those pregnant with #2... is your pregnancy so insanely different??
I wish! Pregnancy 1 was awful, and pregnancy 2 has been awful also. All day nausea, extreme food aversion, exhaustion. #1 was a girl, so I am interested to see if it is a girl again sucking the life out of me Actually this one has been worse, cause now I have a 16mo who doesn't understand why mommy wants to lay on the floor when we play
