Those That Went To WDW - Which Stroller Did You Take?

and did you use WDW transportation? I thought I had this all figured out, but alas I don't, and we're leaving in two weeks. My zippy is pretty heavy and being that I'm traveling solo, I don't want to have to deal with carrying my bag, Emma and that heavy stroller on the bus. A MAC is not an option or any other stroller that has foam on the handles. Which one did you take or which one can you recommend?

we took our Mac.

would it be worth it for you to just bring your reg stroller and rent one at the parks? She walks right? so then you don't have to deal with stroller at all on disney transportation.

Re: Those That Went To WDW - Which Stroller Did You Take?

We actually bought a cheap $50 stroller while we were in FL. It was so lightweight and easy to get on and off the buses. When we came home we just checked one with our baggage and our other at the gate.

I took my Valco Buggster...it weighs about 15lbs. We did use Disney transport. It wasn't so bad. In Disney you can rent a stroller or they sell an umbrella stroller with recline (black and red from Kolcraft) for like $30 or $40. No foam on the handlesChat Icon

We took our Graco Ipo and it worked out great. We used the transportation system from resort to park. My diaper bag has straps to make it a backpack so that made it easier.

Are the handles foam on the IPO Ang? I can't tell online

Janice, I thought about that, BUT, when the park closes and if she is sleeping in her stroller, I don't want to have to take her out and hold her in the line queue since they tend to get really long at the end of the night.

I brought the chico trevi and we did not use the WDW transportation. We rented a car and IMO it was well worth the $$$.

gotcha. do you keep the stroller throughout the line though? maybe take her out last minute?

I don't know how the rentals works.

Re: Those That Went To WDW - Which Stroller Did You Take?

I'm no help, but we always took the Sit n Stand w/two kids and only our single Graco when it was just Caiden. Good luck! We have used Disney transportation with both strollers. It's a pain because you have to empty everything out and fold it up every time.

I'm pretty sure you return the rental before you exit the park

Renting at the park has become insane. A double stroller for one day is $31 and a single is $15. It used to be 1/2 that.

3 years ago I bought 2 jeep strollers for 50 each and we have used them ever since and we have gone 3 times since then.

I have found though that the buses and strollers are a PITA, but we have 2 kids and not enough hands for them and the bags etc.

I think I would bring your fave...even if its bigger...and give Nicholas what the rental fee would have been for being the "stroller helper for the day" Chat Icon

Anyway you dice it, its going to be a stroller, bag, tired 1 year old. I would bring the stroller I liked the most.

Holy cow! That's $$$!!

DS had a Jeep stroller years ago that we used to take. It was never an issue because when he was "stroller age" I always had help. I just saw it on the Walmart website and was contemplating getting it. How much does it weigh, do you know? My Zippy is about 18lbs I think, but the tiny handle just makes it difficult to carry and hold a kid.

Although, you know, it's like 4 steps from the sidewalk to the bus. I could probably get a nice person to carry the Zippy onto the bus for me if I can't manage. It does have one hand fold which I do sometimes with her in my arms. I think I'm over-thinking this, like usual! Chat Icon Maybe I should bring the stroller in and practice Chat Icon

Good point because with my luck, I would end up hating the stroller I buy and be peeved the entire trip! Chat Icon

Do you want my metrolite? Is it lighter than your Zippy? We could just switch for the week!

LOL. There is just a gap in the outside, the wheel itself is fineChat Icon Chat Icon

Yeah, I thought it was, but I think people here have taken that one.

Re: Those That Went To WDW - Which Stroller Did You Take?

Honestly I would probably bring the Zippy. It's comfortable for Emma and you are used to pushing it. IDK but for me whenever I get a new stroller it takes time for me to feel the love KWIMChat Icon

If you do decide to rent the DIsney strollers they do push really nice but IMO are much better suited for older kids 2 and up because there is no recline...just hard plastic.

Took the jeep jogger both times...

it had plenty of protection from the sun and the rain

had great room for her to nap in

and had plenty of storage underneath!
