Those that work from home
Can you tell me what you do and (if you feel comfortable) for what company - feel free to FM.
I am giving it some thought but I want to do my research and see what's out there. My background is in HR but I can certainly do other administrative functions.
Thank you

Re: Those that work from home
It's not totally work from home, but one of the "perks" of my job, is that I can work from home if I want to, when I am not seeing my clients.
Thing is, I really accomplish a lot more when I am in the office. I have too many distractions at home. And there's no way in HECK I'd get anything done if my DS was here.
I have my MSW, and work in a case management position helping people with disabilities.
I work for a homecare agency, and a lot of our RNs also do their work from home when they are not seeing their clients.

Re: Those that work from home
If I was able to work from home I would still have my DS attend daycare. I just want the flexibility to be around more. More freedom! Tired of the corporate rat race every day..

Re: Those that work from home
I work from home 100% (well 90%...I still have to do meetings, events, etc).
I work for a major test prep company as a manager of pre-college tutoring programs. Most of our entire company works from home at this point. It has its ups and downs, but I am pretty happy about it.
My team is actually hiring for a position like mine, which is sales/service/recruiting/academic, but the territory would be Westchester/CT so when you did travel, it would be up there. My territory is Westchester'/Hudson Valley and I don't mind it. I'm up there about once a week/once every 2 weeks.

Re: Those that work from home
DH works at home 100% (although he is supposed to go in once week - he hasn't gone in in months)
DH is a sys engineer for a data center in Jersey City (when they moved there, he made his case to work from home, since he would be commuting 4 hours a day) based out of Atlanta - so even if he does go into the office, anyone he has to talk to or meet with isn't there and it's via conference call anyway.

Re: Those that work from home
I WAH. I am in sales. My company is based in Indianapolis. All of my jobs have been WAH-so maybe look into sales-I would start with companies that sell to HR-like ADP, insurance(you would have to get licensing for that) etc.

Re: Those that work from home
I work from home in HR technology. I was in HR and transitioned to project management of differnt HR systems. The transition was great as I was a user of these systems and now the work I to improve ( implement, upgrade and train) them for the HR and employee users.
