Those who have young kids and large breed dogs
(Lorimarie got me thinking, I know Cosmo is a sweetie)
Casey is a sweetheart but super hyper. I am so afraid when the times comes for us to bring home a baby that she will be a nut. How do your big dogs react to the baby? My biggest fear is that I will sit the baby on the floor to play and Casey will come and barrel him / her over Do they sense anything to be gentle?

I have a 100lb dog. I do not have children yet, but Barney has been around kids, and he definetely does sense that they are small. He can be all crazy with us, then soooo gentle with the kids. I had a pit mix before Barney, and he was exactly the same way!

Tiger is 65 pounds, and he was AWESOME, and still is around the boys. HE was very protective of me whan I was PG, and is very protective of them. When we take them in the car..he HAS to go and will cry if he doesnt come with us. He will sleep on the bed when they are in the pack-nplay in our bedroom, and follows us out at night on the couch for a night feeding. You will be surprised on how they act

Re: Those who have young kids and large breed dogs
Let me just tell you - I am completely shocked on how great Casey is will Ali. I thought the same thing - I thought Casey was going to walk and step all over her! I was sooooo wrong! Casey lays down next to her as to protect her. At times when she is hyper she will come RUNNING into a room and see Ali on the floor, Casey comes to a screaching stop and walks over to her and licks her Licking is the biggest problem with have with Casey. She constantly wants to lick Ali - It drives us nuts!!

Wonderful!! I have a 75lb female American Bulldog and she treats my daughter like her young. She will help her if she stumbles crawling. She will walk right over her and never step on anything. They sense it right away. You will be surprised!
