no not at all.

i've cancelled on them, they've cancelled on me. now if it was a chronic thing, which has happened to me with one family, i told them that i schedule my appointments back to back and i can't have them keep cancelling last minute. they need to give me notice as i have other people to fill the spots. never had a problem after that, but for myself, i would never have a contract with my clients.

pretty much the same here. Ive always stayed relatively flexible, and I appreciate when the families are as well.
I have never had anything in writing.

Re: those who tutor, do you have a cancellation policy ?

ok, thanks guys! I thought I was being a pushover and that the norm was something in writing, etc.

I dont beleive in "just taking people's money" (one of my students pays very little, and I dont mind at all)
and I really cant just take their money if they cancel.
just as I wouldn't like it being done to me if I were on the other side of the fence.

I just didnt know what the norm was with this and at what point was it not right / draw the line.

Theyve cancelled a few times, one time did annoy me, it was purely irresponsible of her, she said they overslept and wanted to push it 4hrs later, but I said it had to be one hour later because I had other plans.

other than that, I have had to reschedule a few times myself and they were very understanding.

thanks again Chat Icon Chat Icon
