Those whose kids sleep in swings....
Or did....
When did you try to wean them? Noah is almost 10 weeks old and he loves sleepign it in..sleeps 9-11 hours straight through a night....
Should I try to transition him to his bassinet?
I am not ready for the crib just yet and dont see myself being ready to move him into the nursery for a while yet....

How much longer do you plan to hav him in your room? If it's for another month or so, I would try to transition to the bassinet now. Is he a big boy? Because we had DS in the bassinet until 3 months and I felt like it was starting to get snug. At that point we switched him to his crib in his own room.

He was 11 lbs 3 weeks ago. He is pretty tiny still in it.
Yes I planned at least another month in our room.

You can try it out and see what happens. Does he nap in the swing or in the bassinet? If he naps in the swing, you can start to transition his naps first.

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
Okay, are you ready for this? My DD is almost 8 months and she just started sleeping in her crib. She ONLY slept in the swing, so we felt our sleep was worth the wait to switch to the pack n play. Unexpectedly our swing broke (the motor). While waiting for the replacement from FP, we had to try the pack n play. She slept in it. We then tried the crib and she's been sleeping in it ever since. She only uses the swing now for naps.
Try the bassinet out, it might be fine. If not, you can always put him back in the swing.

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
Ok, maybe this weekend I will try it...
Hes such a good sleeper, so maybe it wont be too hard.
his nursery is very far from our room and Im just too nervous yet to have him in the crib so far away
He naps anywhere really, bassinet, crib, swing , depends on what room I'm ion when a Nap calls...lol

I'm sure he'll sleep fine in the bassinet. Try it, if it doesn't work, at least you know you can put him back in the swing No, but honestly, it's worth a shot. You'll never know if you don't try!

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
That happened to me. At 8 weeks or so Hailey would only sleep in the swing. That lasted about a month and then I realized she liked her belly better. So I went straight for the crib since I didn't want her to get used to the bassinett and then have to transition again into the crib. If you think he will be in the bassinett for awhile then try it.

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
DD slept only in the swing until 5 months old. Swing wasnt on but she didnt like laying flat. It caused ALOT of problems getting her in the crib at 5 months.. She still at 19 months isnt sleepnig through the night!!

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
We just started trying to make the transition. DS is 4 months. We had tried several times earlier, like right before I went back to work at 10 weeks so he could get used to the crib for daycare. It didn't work we kept him in the swing. Last night was the first time we made him sleep in the crib. It wasn't totally horrible, but not great either. Tonight, he's been asleep 4 hours in it so far and not a peep!

Re: Those whose kids sleep in swings....
Paul is 9 weeks old and once we get the miracle blanket I'm going to try his naps in the crib first.
AFter his early morning fuss (usually to poop) He sleeps in our bed for a good 1 1/2 hour.
I know it won't be the first time, but you'll have to give it a few tries first.
He slept in the PNP for 30 min the other night!
