those with 4 years old carseat question

Do you still use a 5 pt harness. We have the Briatax Marahton and Andrew complains that his butt hurts him it it. He is 44inches and 40lbs.

What type of seat do you use?

I use the same seat for my 4 1/2 yr old. He is 44 inches but only 36 pounds.

My DS is 5 1/2 but we switched him to a booster with a 5 pt harness when he was 4. Could your DS be over the height limit? I don't recall what it is offhand. I have a Safety 1st Apex 65 - its a 5 pt harness up to 65 lbs but accommodates a taller child.

I still have my Andrew in his Marathon and really just made the decision to keep him in there for the time being (he'll be 4 in May). I know he's over 40 lbs and over 40 inches, but he doesn't complain at all and I want to leave well enough alone.

DS1 is four and a half, and we just switched him to a Britax booster from a Marathon. He was just teetering on the edge of being too tall for the Marathon, and we figured it was time.

I use a 5 point harness and I will for as long as possible.

If I could get my 6 year old into a 5 point I would totally do it. He calls them baby seats.

ETA: We use a Recaro Sport for Noah in my car and an Alpha Elite booster in Rob's car.

DS will be 5 in early May, and he's still in his Britax Wizard (precursor to the Boulevard).
