Thoughts on this idea.
My DH will be 30 in about 2 years so I'm not planning anything now...but I'd like to start thinking of things.
My idea was to have a party at a bar and invite everyone.
My questiion is this: If you got invited to a party at a bar is it pay your own way, drinks wise, or should the host cover everyone?
I wouldn't ask anyone for money, this would be on me. And maybe my bil's if they wanted to chip in.

I would expect it to be open bar, unless it was specified as otherwise. Maybe you can get the bar you pick to give you a flat rate for tap beer and regular drinks, and if someone wants bottled or shots, that'll go on a cash tab.

If it was an actual invitation, I would think the drinks are on them.
If it was verbal, I would assume they were on me.

If it was verbal, I would assume they were on me.
So, if I send out a formal invite, I should cover everyone.
But if it's a "hey, meet us at such and such for DH's b-day, we'll hang out" it's on the invitee.
I get it.
