thoughts on zoya polish?

so i used one of my zoya polishes saturday when i got my manicure, and i must say, i'm LOVING this polish-day 3 with no chips, and it's a dark color-normally they chip by now, so i'm getting quite excited about this brand

I was going to post the SAME thing today. I did my nails on Friday night, and so far, NO chips. I can't believe it. This might be my new favorite polish!

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

I can't comment on chipping because ALL polish chips within 3 days for me, but the color selection is fantastic and the colors themselves are so vivid and saturated.

Do you guys use base or top coat?

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

I just had it put on at the nail salon.
The color I brought with me was very sheer. (Roxy)
When I ordered it I specifically looked at what it said and it said this:

Intensity 4 ( 1=Sheer - 5=Opaque )

So I assumed it would be pretty opqaue and thick.
In the bottle it looked deep and rich, but when she put the first coat on it was so thin and watery and almost sheer.
I thought I would need 3 coats, but she managed it with 2.
I have to see how it wears.

Sometimes Ulta has a small selection. LIke a few colors in a seasonal collection
I had bought it there for the first time like 2 years ago in the Fall

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

It's only been two days (I'm wearing Aurora) but I am usually showing a LOT of tip wear by now and a few potential chips. So far, barely any tip wear at all and it is still super shiny.

I'm going to wear it for one more day (need a polish change for the weekend) and I'll be seriously impressed if it lasts a full 3 days on my huge problem nails.

Ok, I had it on for three full days with not a single chip and barely any tip wear. That is completely unheard of for me.

I also cut all my nails with a clipper while the polish was on and it STILL didn't chip.

I'm in love.

This is great to hear! I got Aurora and plan on putting it on tomorrow as long as I can stay awake long enough. I was supposed to do it tonight but got way too lazy. Chat Icon

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

So I got my nails done with it on Wednesday
I also brought my Essie Good to Go topcoat
Today, Friday, I see some tiny wear at the tips and a tiny chip or two- very small- near the tips
I have to say though, it is less chipping than I normally get with OPI or Essie polish
So the jury it still out but so far, so good

I just touched up the chips and notice that 3 coats works better for this color (Roxy) As i mentioned, the polish seemed super thin and sheer going on

Yeah Roxy is a jelly, and with the glitter it kind of has to be sheer, definitely ask for three coats next time. I do 3 coats with all my glitter polishes, gives better depth of color

Much better with the 3 coats and I have to say- I am LOVING this color. Such a nice distribution of glitter and sparkle and such a nice deep color!
So it's day 4 and I have minor tip wear and a few small chips- but i cleaned this morning with no gloves.
I think it does wear much better than the others overall!

Well it's been a little over 24 hours and I'm seeing some chips and nicks. Chat Icon

ETA: I used a base and a top coat.

ETA: Day 2 and they started peeling. Chat Icon

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

Now that I tried another one- with a different finish (not glitter) I have to say the polish is thin
Like when I first put it on it's kind of sheer- second coat makes it better but the polish is so thin it almost doesn't cover evenly
Kind of rolls around on the nail since it's watery.
Then the second coat goes on thicker in one spot and thinner in the other.
The coverage isn't great with less than 3 coats.

Re: thoughts on zoya polish?

I know this post is a little old but I just had to share...I put on two coats of Faye on last Tuesday...no base coat, no top coat because ain't nobody got time for that! It still looks pretty great - a little wear and tear on the tips but no biggie. Here's the kicker - ALL WEEKEND, from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed, DH and I were working on a home project. I wasn't wearing work gloves. And yet, my nails still look pretty damn good!

I have Zoya FeiFei which is a similar finish to Faye and it holds up SO well.

I think, as with all polishes, it depends on the individual polish. Ones with shimmer always last longer for me, and even then it depends on what kind of glitter/shimmer it has.

I used Zoya Zuza the other day and it chipped pretty easily, but I wore Zoya Aurora and Storm and it stayed on forever!
