thrift stores ?
Anyone every buy furniture from one? Do you know of stores with a good furniture selection? We're looking for a medium sized kitchen table.

Yeah, I thought of that too and do check once in a while. The problem is we have a very tight space in the kitchen and no DR. We can only go as wide at most 35". We want something about 60" long that has a leaf to extend to about 70" or so. We're having a really hard time finding soemthing like that. Thanks for the suggestion though

We actually bought our kitchen table and chairs, and our coffee table from the Salvation Army. We went in there on a whim to see what they had, and we found something we liked. The table and chairs also came with the matching hutch, which we have stored because we have no room for it.
We stripped the coffee table and refinished it. I love it, and I would definetly go back again.
It can't hurt to try a thrift store, some of the stuff is not so nice, but maybe you'll find a great deal.
We found what we needed for an awesome price.
We went to the Salvation Army in West Babylon, I know there are others.

one of the best place i have found for furniture is the salvation army in riverhead. they get some amazing stuff there. so worth the ride.
i got a beautiful handcarved rocking chair with cherry inlays and gold leaf detailing for 10 bucks cant beat it!
