Time Change Advice?
We're going to AZ, DS will be 13 months. Its only a 2 hour difference and we will be there for 1 week. My SIL said to try and keep him on NY time, even though it means an early bedtime there and early rise, just b/c then it will be easier to get him back once we come home - anyone agree with this? Advice?
I mean I'll obviously be reading his cues, if he's had it, we'll just go to bed, naps, etc.

Another option is to keep him on EDT, since we're "Springing Forward" in about 2 weeks or so. That would put it an hour later than it is here now, and only an hour earlier than in AZ.

Went to TX which is one hour difference. Kept her on the same schedule, although it was awful since DD never sleeps past 6 NY time! We were up at 4:30-5 AM and in bed by 8-9 every night.

Re: Time Change Advice?
I always put them on local time. 2 hours is not that huge of a deal, but I would try to move DC. Try to keep DC up a little later or do a late nap, and then move their bedtime to as late as you can make it. If he normally goes to bed at 7:30, I would try to hold him out till at least 6:30 or 7 pm local time.

Actually - AZ doesn't do daylight savings so the time difference jumps from 2 to 3 hrs next week.
We took DS there in January. The first day was really tough - with all of the travelling and such, he passed out at 6pm AZ time. The next day, we adjusted him to the local time zone but made his bedtime slightly earlier than if we were at home- we were outside and kept him busy so it went ok.
When we got back, it took a day to adjust him back to EST.

Re: Time Change Advice?
We have just come back from Florida, its a 5 hour time difference, so the UK is 5 hours ahead. It has taken about 3 days for us to get used to UK time again.
Get your kids used to the local time right away!
