Timeline / Chart for feedings....spinoff from nferrandi post
Does your Dr. office give you a chart on when you can start feeding your child foods other than formula? How do you know what foods are safe? I am way ahead of myself here, DD is only 3 weeks old but just posting a spinoff from nferrandi's post.

They don't give you a chart per-se, but your Dr. will advise you on this based on how big DD is and how much she's taking in her bottles. Some Dr.'s suggest waiting until 6 months to start solids, but since Luca is a big boy, my Dr. said to start at 4 months. And we're so glad we did. He went from waking 3-4 times a night to sleeping for 12 hours. Of course he still wakes up sometimes, but it's a heck of a lot better than it was.

They have never given me a chart. At each visit they would verbally tell me, and then if they give me alot of info at a time they will write it down for me.

My doctor gave me a handout on nutrition, including formula recs, vitamins for breastfed babies, when/how to introduce solids. Their practice believes that solids should be introduced between 4 and 6 months. I learned that introducing solids before 4 months and after six makes kids more likely to develop diabetes.

I never got a chart. At each visit I would just wait to see what they said.
