Tips from moms who dealt with the stomach virus
So, I think Jack has the stomach virus, he threw up three times today.
Any tips? Do they usually get sick overnight? Is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable if he does get sick again?
The only thing he basically has in his stomach now is pedialyte and water.

Re: Tips from moms who dealt with the stomach virus
firstly poor little guy it really isnt nice for them .....
i would just be concerned about dehydration if he is drinking and holding down pedialyte then that is really good for now ...
just keep him warm and hydrated and i hope it passes real soon
keep washing your hands mama and lysoling handles etc that is the last thing you need to get right now

I agree with the AP.
Try and stay away from milk and any other dairy that he eats for a day or so.
I hope he feels better soon!
And I really hope you don't catch it

Re: Tips from moms who dealt with the stomach virus
Oh, no...
My DS had this about 3 weeks or so ago. He did throw up ALL night long, about 6 times, every hour almost exactly. It was the LONGEST night we've had in a VERY long time. HOpefully the worst has past for you if he is able to keep down water and pedilalyte. I would say that is a very good sign.
Take care of yourself! I got it two days after he did and it was bad. Poor little guys, I don't know how they do it. You definitely don't want that right now.
for Jack and Mommy and that the worst is over and you have a very restful night.
P.S. Don't be surprised if you start changing some VERY messy diapers for the next couple days. The diarrhea that came along with the bug was pretty bad.

Re: Tips from moms who dealt with the stomach virus
I just posted on your other thread...so check that one out...
But my ped suggested Pedialyte and gingerale (flat - no bubbles - just let it sit and then stir out the bubbles) rather than water b.c they get no nutrients from the water.
He said if no vomiting for 6-10 hours and asking for food to start SLOW -
No dairy for 24-48 hours after the no incidences vomiting or diarrhea.
I'm sorry he is sick - it is NOT fun - DD had it for 10 days back at New Years.
I hope he has a quick recovery

Re: Tips from moms who dealt with the stomach virus
Thanks everyone for the advice. He's ok today just really groggy and needy (he's been laying on me all day)
He hasn't thrown up since last night so I'm praying it's over. I did just give him about two ounces of milk cut with water bc he was begging for it.
