TMI - dogs that have bad gas
Maggie's gas lately is horrific. My whole house constantly smells. Is there anything I can give her??

Re: TMI - dogs that have bad gas
I love my Maggie, but she's had stomach issues since day 1.... she just had stool taken a month or two ago when she had diarrhea and it was fine.

Re: TMI - dogs that have bad gas
My dog had a similar problem...it was how we discovered he has an intolerance to both wheat and corn. We switched his food and after a couple of days the gas went away.

Re: TMI - dogs that have bad gas
One of ours has gas when she's anxious or excited. Usually the days I bring her to work with me.
We thought it was the food we're feeding her but it's more about her emotional state. She could go weeks and be fine, and then fart constantly.
We found getting her more exercise the day before she goes into the office, so she's a little less energetic, is better too.

Can I ask how you knew about the intolerance??? Is it something you had her tested for?? Thanks

Re: TMI - dogs that have bad gas
I am going to guess it is the food unless there is some kind of problem as some of the other posters have mentioned.

I suspected it was his food b/c his gas was always worse a couple of hours after eating. I talked to the vet and he said the best way to determine if food was causing the gas was to remove the foods from the dog's diet for a few weeks and see if the gas goes away. Then to feed the dog the food and see if it comes back. So I removed the food from my dog's diet the gas went away.
