TMI and dumb post partum question. Do I have my period?
Is AF in town?
I had a C-section 5 weeks ago. I was bleeding steadily from the time of the surgery until 3 days ago and in the past 3 days I still had some small tinges of blood. Today I am bleeding heavily. It is similar in heaviness to periods I have had in the past, so I am not very concerned about how heavy it is. I had a headache earlier, same type of headache I sometimes get with my period. I should note that I pumped BM for the first 2 weeks, then had to stop. I am a bit surprised to possibly have my period this soon. Even in the past, my cycles were long, and with pumping BM for some time, I thought my first period would be delayed. Now that I have written this, it seems obvious. AF is in town. I just want to make sure that this is not a return of the post partum bleeding. It's not good if it stops and then becomes heavy again, right? But I have AF, don't I? She annoys me.

I should have figured. There are so many differences, physiologically, between pumping and having baby feed at the breast.

I had something similar to you. I stopped bleeding around 3 weeks PP and then started again around 5 weeks, but it wasn't AF. I got her at 9 weeks PP and I only know it was her because I had full blown cramps and other AF symptoms.
