TMI--Mucous Plug Question

I think I might be losing mine. Since friday when I had an "aggressive" internal, I have been having what looks like EWCM sporadically. It hasn't been a real lot, but just now I had a glob of what looked liked yellowy snot. I hope it is!!! I want DD to be here before my induction date! What do you think?

You would know if you lost your mucus plug. It is big and gross. Sounds like you may have. I lost mine on Thanksgiving 2006 and still needed to be induced 2 weeks later!!!

Re: TMI--Mucous Plug Question

sounds like what I had after my first internal. unfortunatley it can still mean weeks before you go into labor.

I thought you could lose it in pieces and it did not necessarily have to come out in one big piece. Anyone lose it gradually?

Re: TMI--Mucous Plug Question

I thought I lost mine last week (looked like I had sneezed in my panties -gross), but then realized I really lost it this past Friday when something that looked like a plug came out (gross-again)....
I think it's different for everyone, but I've read that it can come out gradually or at once, and that neither way is a clear indication of labor happening soon.
Best of luck!

Re: TMI--Mucous Plug Question

why are you being induced? How many weeks are you?

I had my DD 10 weeks ago, I had that stringy yellowish discharge too for several weeks before my water broke.
If you want to move things along, get a massage...only if your full term, that worked for me.

I have GD and I am 38W3D. I'll be induced at 39W5D because my OB won't let me go past my due date wtih GD. I still am having the snotty, yellowing discharge (no blood). I haven't seen anthing that make me think it is my MP definitely but I guess it doesn't matter since sometimes it means labor is coming and sometimes it doesn't.
