TMI!! Question RE: DVC/DNC post op.

I'm sorry to be posting this on here it's just that I know I'm in good company with many ladies who have gone through what I'm going through. I don't know what to expect and don't want to keep calling Dr. if it's not necessary.

DVC was Saturday ...I had no bleeding Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues. Today, However I'm having cramping, bleeding on pad and in toilet (toilet water tinted reddish pink with a few chunks of blood)

I'm so annoyed that i had sat, sun, mon, tuesday off and didn't bleed or feel pain but today at my work meeting and tomorrow first day officially back now i have to deal with cramps and bleeding? SOMEBODY UP THERE IS HAVING A GOOD OLE LAUGH AT MY EXPENSE!Chat Icon

SO MY QUESTION IS:

how much bleeding can be expected and for how long? what is considered normal and abnormal?

Re: TMI!! Question RE: DVC/DNC post op.

I think they said abnormal would be filling a pad an hour. or within 3 hours. ??

I bled for about 2 weeks. Maybe longer. I can't totally remember. There were clots but I still bled rather lightly.

I had bad cramps for a total of 10 days. Each day the cramps felt different. One day I even had what can only be described as contractions. I timed them and they were exactly 2 minutes apart.

I got my period 4 weeks and 2 days after the d and c.

I think everyone is different when it comes to the recovery from a d and c. Some have cramps and some don't. Some bleed more than others.

Have you ventured over the the TTC and Pregnancy after Miscarriage board yet?

Re: TMI!! Question RE: DVC/DNC post op.

The cramps are probably your body getting rid of what's left. They can't scrape EVERYTHING out, that would be dangerous... so your body has to expel the rest.

If you are concerned though, you should contact the doctor. I'm sure you are OK though.

I'm VERY VERY VERY sorry for what you are going through. I do know what it's like.

ok, thats very helpful. at least i know I can expect this for a bit longer.

did your Dr. tell you it was ok to try after your first pd.?

I never even knew there was a pregnancy after miscarriage board! I'm happy to hear this. I saw the TTC but didn't go on yet. It's funny because i know we want to try again..but It's almost like I'm afraid to say we're "trying" like it's gonna jinx it or something. I'm silly like that.

Re: TMI!! Question RE: DVC/DNC post op.

i had bleeding for 2wks after my D&C's and both times AF showed about 5-6wks later...
the doc gave us the ok the first time to try again right away and it ended in a second D&C...second time around we waited 2 full cycles just to let my body get back in order and i'm now 26wks!!!
You should def go to the TTC after MC board...everyone there is going through the same thing and is awesome for support and advice!!!

I'm here if you need anything...just FM me!!!
