TMI Question: Who has tried, or plans to try, a perineal massage??
It's supposed to help with stretching and help prevent tearing and/or the need for an episiotomy.
I was looking up how to do it on babycenter today and it seems rather complicated, and it's not what I expected it to be-- in terms of err, technique. 
Do you feel it helps, or is it a load of bullshite?

I never really heard of it before. I'm going to have to look it up now tho. Who would even perform the massage? I'd be scared to mess with the va-jay-jay before it's time.

My sister's doctor did it while she was delivering. He told her to push only when he said and in between he massaged. She didn't have any tearing and not one stitch.

yeah-- it doesn't sound pleasant at all. But, if it's supposed to be so beneficial, and I am mostly afraid of tearing or getting cut-- I figured I could endure for the greater good!
