....to be young and single again...
let me start be saying i ADORE my kids, but i am a little jealous of my little brother!!
he left today for the jets game with a few friends!!! spur of the moment type thing last weekend they decided to get tix and they drove there today!!!!! (they just got back from visiting a friend in hawaii 2 months ago!!)
there is not much i miss about life pre-kids, but being able to do things like that is one of them!! he is 24, single, lives home and makes decent $$ -- i told him enjoy it, this is the time to do these awesome things!!

i hear you!
To have a day to do something cool, without having to worry about being home for dinner or bedtime, not breaking the bank paying the babysitter, being able to drink and not worry about having a hangover the next day.
I miss that sometimes.

Exactly!! I was totally a spur of the moment trip type person before having kids.....last minute trip to cancun, decide fri morning to go to the poconos fri night....that kind of thing.
Now if i want to go to target I have to try and plan it around the babies feeding schedule

I was also a spur of the moment kinda person! Lets go skydiving, so we did. Lets go to S. Africa, 2 months later we were there! Now it's all about Frankie and I'm okay with that! Although I am a little jealous of my sister who just booked a trip to Europe for May!

I know!! I am dying for a vacation but Even that cant be planned or achieved with 3 kids 2 and under.
I loved the days of just going to A/C or Manhattan etc within an hour of deciding.
Even just showering spur of the moment is not possible
If I had known then, I would have done so much more...There's still plenty of life, just takes a lot more work and planning.

The funny thing is my DS is going to be 3 in March ( how did that happen??) and my twins are 11 weeks and before I was in the hospital having the babies I had only spent 1 night away from DS. I drove to MD for my sisters bridal shower and DH and DS stayed home.
I probably would never go and do something like that, I just sometimes miss being able to be spontaneous. And my mom offers to watch DS all the time, I just hate not seeing his face when I wake up

We almost went to Indy this weekend too!!! We thought about it Wed and were just going to go, but i was throwing a 75th bday party at my houes for my great Aunt yesterday and DH was going to the St Johns/Villanova game w/ his bro, dad and nephew. We didnt care so much about the basketball game lol but i couldn't postpone her birthday party- it was more important.
DH and I love doing that kind of stuff though and we've tried to keep doing it as much as possible. I think it's also easier b/c we only have 1 kid right now (hence why we're trying to still take advantage of this time- while its still fairly easy) and we're also lucky that my little sister will come anywhere with us if we want her to (since we dont want to leave DD overnight or anything, but still get to do our thing for a few hours). But yeah, its definitely something that factors into us considering having another kid- i feel like that would be a bigger adjustment.
