To go to Christmas Party or not...
I am sitting here getting ready for work and deciding what to wear... my company Christmas party is tonight.
It is NOT your typical party. It's at the Hammerstein Ballroom with about 5-7,000 people and it's a club atmosphere with open bar. I have been to 6 and I just think I am done.
Am I a total old maid loser if I don't go? I never just felt BLAH about going, and DH and I are going out tomorrow night with friends, so I want to get my drink on then...I just don't think I want to make an effort...
What to do?

You should go even if it is for two hours. Dress yourself nicely and go trust me the Hammerstein ballroom is very nice and you will enjoy yourself one you get there.

Aren't you puttinh in notice at your job? Do you want to maintain good relations? Not burn your bridges so to speak? Maybe you should go for those reasons.....

Re: To go to Christmas Party or not...
I am so over company Christmas parties! I used to go at my old job - but I have decided not to at this one this year.
The whole thinking about going to it - is the worst part. Once you get there though it won't be that bad.
Can you go for a little while?

I would skip it, too. My Christmas party is today, during work, which is the only reason I'm going. There are about 500 ppl there, so it's not quite as large as yours (only 3 departments for this party), but I'm dreading going myself.

Re: To go to Christmas Party or not...
You ARE NOT a old maid loser. Trust me, I am still paying for my attendance at my company's holiday party Tuesday night. My first question is, why the heck was it on Tuesday night when I still had to go to work on Weds Thurs & Fri
Of course, it was incredible. I was in such shock. I've never seen anything like it. 3500 people - Top shelf everything - at the Marriott Marquis. Well several vodka & cranberrys and incredible entrees and desserts later - and a tiring ride home on the LIRR - I arrive home to a who decides to keep me awake HALF the night, followed by a late night at work the following day and early arrival at work this morning. I think I am going to if I don't
If I go next year, I'm taking the next day off.
