To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
I'm sure that this has been asked before, but I'm wondering, if most people test or if they just wait for AF to show up.
I go back and forth. Frankly, I've learned that POAS almost invites AF's appearance. She seems to come as soon as I pee on something I spent $8 on. If you do test, how many days do you generally wait?
I'm sitting here doing the "the hcG should be out of my system by... I O'd on... the soonest I can test is..."
I'm probably just making the 2ww harder on myself.

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
After my chemical last summer, I stopped POAS before AF showed. I just couldn't take seeing the blaring BFN anymore and it was psychologicaly easier for me to just wait it out and get AF. I still cried everytime, but it helped my sanity to deal with the 2WW that way.
ETA: Even with my 2 IVF cycles, I didn't POAS before beta day. Again, same mentality, that if it was negative I would have much rather hear it from the RE's office then see it on the HPT.

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
OMG yes. Even when I'm late and I'm like, should be OK. But, then I POAS and an hour later AF arrives. I thought I was the only one that this happens to. I stayed away from POAS during both my IVF cycles. But, I stupidly kept buying HPT's. Now I have 20 under my sink and I don't want them there. I'm just going to have to do it for the HCG and once that is out of my system stop on the next cycle. Though testing would be something different. I'm sure I'll chicken out again.

I was a POAS addict, but I learned my lesson- and will probably never POAS (at least before its time) again.

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
I always did. I would buy 100 sticks from online, and tested like a manaic. I dont know why I did that but lack of patience might explain it I'm sure.

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
Since dealing with IF, I always wait until the day I go in for my "clomid" check. If AF is not there, I just try my best to wait until the Dr does it in his office. I spent WAY too much money TTC & getting PG tests that just showed up BFN!

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
I didnt want my REs office calling me while I was at work to give me the results. I figured that if i tested before I went to the RE I would be more capable of handling the news. I was wrong. I was still in total breakdown mode...although I AM thankful that it didnt happen while I was at work so I think I will POAS again this time too.

Re: To pee or not to pee (on a stick)?
After having a chemical two months ago, I will never POAS again. I got a BFP four days before my beta and then when my RE called me to tell me the beta was 49 I was devastated. I knew it should have been higher....
I would rather just find out from the RE at this point. If it's a viable pregnancy I'll know from the beta number. POASing is not going to tell me if it's a good pregnancy or not.

I always POAS the 14th day after the IUI. This way I can have my breakdown at home with DH before I have to get ready for work...I'd rather get a BFN at home with a pleasant surprise from the Beta (if that ever were to happen) then keep my hopes up unduely! But that's just me. --Shawnna
thats how I felt...waiting for that phone call was just unbearable for me....and I usually got it at work and am emotional and knew how i reacted to the bfn's and didnt want to take the chance....but I was also doing treatments back to back to back..every month b/c we did many medicated iui's vs. Ivf's without ever much of a break, so the bfn's were not as jarring to see at home then if I was doing a cycle every now and again.
