Sorry the update took me so long; spent a long, hard day of working on the house.
Unfortunately, he wasn't as amused as all of you were. He was annoyed by the whole thing and put his glass next to the sink (just to make a point). He came back into the bedroom and scolded me while I did a poor job of holding in my hysterical laughter.
I still think it was really funny and I know I made my point. If anyone else tries this, FM me with your results!

  i definetely would had been scolded by dh myself, but i would still laugh at it and tell him to put his dishes in the dishwasher.

That is so funny!!
I have a different problem- I have the DH who FORGETS to flush the toilet. For some reason, DH gets the "urge" right before he goes in for a shower so he goes and then hops in the shower (in his defense he says that he does not want to flush b/c then the water will change in the shower and be way too hot)... I'm thinking- all you have to do is just wait a minute after flushing and the water goes back to normal.
Either way- the problem is that 99% of the time he FORGETS that he went and leaves it in there-- and not that #1 is all that bad but it's the OTHER that bothers me when I, clueless to this, comes up two hours later to use the bathroom- lift the seat and BAM!!!! There it is- and smelly by that point!! Sorry if this is TMI but I can't take it anymore and I think I want to put plastic wrap over the entire bowl so he can't go!!!!
