Today, I am thankful...
With the events of yesterday I have decided that today I will be thankful, not stressed out, not angry, not worn out. Today, I will be thankful that I have a VERY healthy, happy, loved and loveable 2 1/2 year old DS, the true love of my life. Today, I will not count the hours to bedtime, but cherish each and every moment I get to spend with my precious gift. Today, DS might eat ice cream for dinner and fruit snacks before bed. Tonight, I will let him cuddle with me in bed, and maybe even break the "no sleeping with Mommy" rule.... Tonight, I will hug and kiss DS before bed and pray for MANY more todays, tomorrows and tonights to come!
Today, I will not think about all of the things that normally drive me NUTS about DH. Today, I will think back to our wedding day and years before now with only good thoughts and loving memories. Tonight, I will go home, prepare dinner and give DH a kiss when he walks through the door and tell him how grateful I am for the life and family we have created. Tonight, I won't just go through the motions counting down the minutes until I get to climb into bed, alone, and watch TV by MYSELF for just 15 minutes. Tonight, I will take that time and just talk to DH, or not, but just BE with him.
Lauren, I pray that you and Logan find peace and know that Scott is no longer suffering. But I do have to say thank you for sharing your journey with us at this most difficult time in your life. Because of you, I am going to do my best to not take ONE MINUTE for granted.

Lauren, it took amazing strength and courage to share what you have gone through, and i truly hope that it helps me become more aware of how lucky i am, and how grateful i should be for all the blessings in my life.

I feel the same way.
DH & I have been going trough some rough patches this past year. It has been very emotional & draining on both of us. We would never have thought that we would be going down this road with our relationship.
Because of this we tend to bicker over the most ridiculous things & that just sends us over the edge.
After reading the events that transpired yesterday, I realized that I would be lost without this man in my life. That I love him more than I realized in this past year.
I just called him crying to just say "Hi...I love you" . He didn't know what to say, he was a bit surprised but you could hear him smiling a bit and he said "I love you too...I REALLy do".
Lauren, you said you don't believe that you are a strong person in one of your blog entries.
I don't believe you realize just how STRONG you truly are.
May the love of those around help you in the days ahead & that you take comfort in knowing theres an angel watching over you.

DH has been away on a bus. trip since Sunday- I was playing the "woe is me"card for after reading the blog and how eloquently and touching Leighla wrote, I called DH just to say "I love you".
I decided to stop whining about what I don't have an truly appreciate what I do have: a hard-working/loving/fun husband, a happy and healthy baby girl, a house that keeps us safe and comfortable and jobs that provide enough to survive and enjoy every minute of life.
