today is a bad day at my company.......
they're laying off around 3,000 people today, and my boss was just let go  he was here a long time, but its still a shock! they also let go one of the other people on our team, so we took a big hit  today sux!!!

Oh wow. Is today lay off day??? My company is letting go of 300 (2.5% of our workforce). My manager called me in this morning to tell me I'm safe. Then she just called me in to give me an update of who is going. It's so very sad. This one older man who I work with on a regular basis is gone.  I feel so very, very bad for him. No notice, nothing. I was suppose to meet with him today and I was wondering why he hasn't come by yet.
ETA - you know what is very scary, my company is suppose to be one of the very stable ones. I guess everyone has to make cuts somewhere to survive these days.

- I honestly don't know which ones are stable anymore

yea the guy that had told me a couple weeks ago that he thought our team was in trouble was the other one they just let go.....so now I realize they might have been hinting to him already to start looking elsewhere. they also let one of our project managers go on Monday after he had literally just come back from being out on disability for 6 weeks (for knee replacement). today is just heartbreaking!!
thanks for the hugs & prayers guys!! I'll need them b/c I heard the next wave of layoffs may be in January!

yea today is a 10% cut.....and stability doesn't seem possible in times like these! my company also has remained profitable but is still taking a hit.
