Today is my dad's birthday

I can't beleive its been 14. He would be 69 today.

And to make it even harder, my mom and sister are both in Florida and I have to work today. Sometimes I like to pay homage to him and do something he would love like go to a museum or spend time with my own family. But today I'm at work all day.

I just miss him so much.

I know how you feel, my dad will be gond 10 years in August, where does the time go?? I understand today didn't turn out the way you usually like to spend his bday, but how about taking yourself out to a nice lunch, or taking a walk. I usually treat myself to a icecream cone, it reminds me of when we used to go down to the water in Port Jeff and he'd get us both icecream and we would sit by the dock. Do something that allows you time to sit with your feelings of love for him and how you miss him.

I'm thinking about you today and wishing you an easy day. He would be so proud of you and all you have accomplished, hold him close to your heart today.

Thanks Robyn. IN the end, I didn't do anything. But I did talk to DD about him. He passed away many years before she was born- he never even met DH. She knows a little about him- and his picture has always been up in our house. I told her it was Grandpa Jerry's birthday today. She asked if she could go to his party. I told her he wasn't having one. It was very cute and helped me make a bond between my DD and my dad.
