I will probably just go along with my son's preference.

Re: toddler boys - sit or stand?

DS just turned 2, and generally the past few months he would only do it standing at the "BIG BOY POTTY" (the reg. toilet) now we've started to actually try and potty train it depends on his mood. If it's on the little potty he will do either or, big one, only stand!

Whatever works I say!

My boys started training sitting. My oldest moved to standing about a month or so after he trained sitting. My youngest pretends to do peepee standing but has only really pee'd sitting so far...he's 2 and I'm not actively training him yet but he goes peepee here and there in the potty sitting.

We've had more luck standing than sitting. Yes, it is messy, but I am just happy that he is trying.

Same here. Now DS only sits when he has to go #2 or if there's no stool or someone to help lift him up.

Def let him stand. My older son never sat and my younger guy preferred to sit at first and eventually starting standing on his own. The mess comes with the territory, KWIM? They do get neater about it. Although I'm sure there are full grown men still making messes all over the world. Chat Icon

I know it sound bizarre but I think my 3 yr old looks so cute standing there peeing. He has his own "method" already LOL
