Does anyone else's toddler want to eat all day long?

Yep....my DD eats all day long too! She eats 3 meals a day, but still snacks all day. I wish I could eat like her and still only weigh 20lbs Chat Icon

Really? I disagree. As adults, we don't really eat all day (well sometimes I do!), but I think it's a bad habit to start. Emma eats 3 meals a day with one snack, two at the most. Daycare was a different story, I felt like they were feeding her all day long which was not necessary.

I agree....personally, I think that is a bad habit to start...mikayla gets 3 meals and 2 snacks during the day

Same here. 3 meals a day, 2 snacks. This is from toddlerhood to present. Joseph is down to 1 snack. I followed the daycare & the school schedule.

They also have to eat in the kitchen only. I don't want them to get into the habit of eating all over the house or in front of a TV.

I think this is a case of everyone is different. My little guy has some catching up to do so when he wants to graze we let him. I also think it depends on the size of your child as to how much they can eat in one sitting. I really do not think my ds has a big enough belly to fit everything that he wants.

DD is very petite. She doesn't eat a lot at one time.

She'll have a handful of animal crackers then an hour later want cheese than an hour later 2 or 3 wafers, etc.

I think it's hard to make a blanket statement on this one regarding whether it's "good" or not.

Like, if your kid is a really fussy eater, and grazing throughout the day gets some nutrition in them and keeps them from being underweight, then great. If the kid is just chowing on junk food all day and it's getting in the way of eating nutritious meals, then it's sort of a problem.

There are so many factors... is the kid eating decent meals or are the snacks ruining their appetite.... are the snacks healthy ones like fruit or are they empty calories.... does the kid have a weight problem that needs to be watched, etc etc.
