Toddler Girl Haircut?
I have a few questions:
1 - My daughter is almost 14 months old and her hair is out of control. It hangs down way past her nose and is always in her face so we have to put it up in piggies or a pony every day. When did other girl-Moms take theirs for a first hair cut?
2 - She sprung these adorable curls in the back and I definitely want to leave those but maybe give the front more shape? I'm living in fear of a toddler mullet. And I know bangs are such a commitment. Should I keep letting it grow? Any input is much appreciated.
3 - Any recs for a kid friendly barber shop in the Port Jeff/Mount Sinai area?

Re: Toddler Girl Haircut?
My daughter is 3+ and she has not yet gone for her first haircut. Her hair is stick straight and is down to her butt. 99% of the time, we keep it up in pigtails. I personally hated my bangs growing up but found it so hard to grow them out...so I couldnt make that decision for dd to have bangs. I used (and continue to use) clips to keep it out of her face. If you think she has hair that someone could cut into a "style" I would take her. But if youre looking to just trim the front so it doesnt hang in her face...youll end up needing to do that every few weeks so it may be easier just to let it grow past that point.

Toddler Girl Haircut?
Dd got her first trim the week of her 3rd bday. We take her every 3 months. Her hair is curly so I would never do bangs. Her hair is out of control so the front is always pinned back as she hates it in her face. I do topsytails a lot.

Toddler Girl Haircut?
We were going to take my then 14-15 month old for a haircut at some kids place in centereach but when we got there, the sign on the door said cash or check only, which we didn't have on us. That was a year ago and we never got her hair cut. She just wears pigtails or a ponytail every day. It's a little past her shoulders and some of the wispy pieces in the front have gotten long enough to make a little bang. I heard cutting hair can change its texture or something like that so I'm going to keep waiting.

Re: Toddler Girl Haircut?
I cut bangs for my girls before a year. Bangs for me were easy. I trimmed them myself. I do not like thick bangs or very short bangs. I loved my girls hair with bangs, it was so cute. Growing them out is a pain took about 3 months of constantly clipping them.

Re: Toddler Girl Haircut?
Dd1 has very thin, straight hair that would knot up in the back while she slept. We cut her hair just after her 1st birthday and have kept in in a short bob with bangs since then. It gets her noticed a lot because it's not a typical toddler haircut. Dd2 had little curls at the ends so we side part hers and use a clip or bow (when she'll agree to keep it in). It's always a mess and I'm tempted to keep hers short too but I don't want them to feel like they have to be the same and their hair/face shapes are different so for now I'll deal with the mess and keep it that way.

Toddler Girl Haircut?
We've cut dd1's twice at around 3.5 and 4. My 19 month old had never had hers cut. I have no desire to keep up with bangs and hated mine as a kid so I deal with keeping it back all the time. The both have fine, straight hair but ate pretty good about keeping in pony tails and clips. I use the little poly bands or clips. I just got a pack of 20 really cute bows with alligator clips for $3 from amazon and they work great. Zxuy hair bows if anyone is interested in them.
I've also been hunting for good shampoo for my 4yo. The loreal strawberry kids one is my favorite. We tried three others recently bc I couldn't find the strawberry and none worked anywhere near as well.
