toddler mom ...

do you ever leave your toddler (baby on the move) unattended in a room?

how long?

for example my ds loves to walk back and forth between rooms

today he has been doing this since I got home at 3....back and forth

sometimes I follow him and sit down and then not half a minute later he starts the parade again...back and forth

my friend with a son the same age laughs at me...she just lets him go

DH gets angry he feels like someone should be with him every second

What do you ladies do?

I guess it depends where we are in the house...if she's near anything dangerous (i.e. the stairs, bathrooms, etc), I keep a close eye on her. Otherwise, I pretty much let her do her thing. Chat Icon

Re: toddler mom ...

Not really..... When we are on the 1st floor, I'll close the door to the guest room, bathroom and the kitchen. So the only place he can roam is the LR, DR and the hall. Sometimes, I'll get up to go to the kitchen, but he usually follows.

Re: toddler mom ...

He is downstairs in the den/playroom right now while I am upstairs on the computer..

Everything is babyproofed down there so I just put the gate up so he can't use the stars, put Noggin on and he is fine..

I feel that he needs to be away from me and have separation time since I am with him all day...

I agree they def need their space....by the way I'm talking you would think I had a big house Chat Icon it is just a 2 bedroom condo.

His room is babyproofed and just as I was telling dh this I walk into his room and he was pulling the lamp off the night table...Iswore it was out of reach he must have grown in height

My husband is so overprotective of him...I'm bad but he is worse!

All the time, but I wouldn't leave her on a different floor from me for more than a minute...she's way too crazy! Mostly she's just gated into two rooms anyway.

One day last weekend, DH and I were both downstairs with her, he was on the phone and I was cooking--guess no one was watching. He wandered upstairs on the cordless and found her UPSTAIRS in our 3rd bedroom--the junkroom for now!! Now, *that's* a bit scary for me!!

I feel very comfortable to let Julia walk all around my house, its baby proof and shes really never left long for me to worry about her.
