Toddler who whines and cries all day??

I can't take it anymore. For the last 2 weeks my 26m old DOES.NOT.STOP.
She wakes up whining, goes to sleep whining. Tantrums every 2 mins.
It used to be if you took something away from her or told her no etc., she would throw herself all over kicking and screaming. Now it's literally for no reason. I could just say "Hi emerson!" and full out hysterics. WTF?
I cant keep up with her. And now my 1yr old thinks its nice to imitate her and will proceed to scream and kick.

I know its the age but really??
I dont catch a break.

I feel your pain, although I only have 1! I think my Ds's 2 year molars are coming in and then he got an ear infection so I have to remind myself that he is probably just uncomfortable....although by the end of the day it's hard!

Lots of hugs! I have been there myself and it is rough. I would cry every day from frustration.
Is she talking a lot? I felt my issue was my toddlers lack of communication/verbal skills.

But yeah flipping out at the drop of a hat, or because someone would say hello was a daily occurrence.

Finally at 2.5 - just shy of 3 things started turning around. We still have our days but nothing like it was.

DS is also the same age almost and going through this now. I have to tell him that I dont answer to whining so if he wants something he has to ask. Otherwise I ignore the whining.

and now we are going through an "everything is scary phase" ..just yesterday we took him to a festival and he freaked the frig out on the carousel..yet he asked to go on. So we take him off. we get off he's screaming to go back on. Tried the choochoo and he was the only kid screaming bloody murder to get off. so we had to get off before the train departed.

I hope this phase ends real soon.

My DD will be 3 and July and it hasn't stopped yet... my new rule (or least when i am about to string her) is you whine you go to your room and whine all you want, with the door shut.

Yep.
Sometimes I think there is something wrong with her.
I feel like it can't be normal to be that touchy emotionally.
But i hear it is normal.

I can say- do you want milk? And God FORBID she doesn't want milk at that moment- she will freak out. Screaming, crying, tantrum.
I am like- "a simple no would have sufficed!"


It is so frustrating, so stressful.
I feel like I haven't relaxed when she is around in months.
We are always on edge.
We are always listening to screams.
I sometimes shut all the windows and doors because I am embarrased of what the neighbors must think.

Yes, this weekend was HORRIBLE.

Everything causes a 15 minute fit and I'm exhausted.

Yep.

I keep telling myself it's a phase, it's a phase, it's a phase. God forbid I ask if she's hungry, I get whining and a tantrum.

It's frustrating and me and DH are quite wound up when we're around DD sometimes because of her ever changing moods.

Yup... it's a phase. a LOOOONG phase that seems like forever.
I thought I was the only one, but this is why they call it the "Terrible 2's"
DS will be 3 next month and just getting better.

this is my daughter. she's 4 and still whines and cries! maybe it's gotten slightly better.

I'm right there with you. DD is 23m and a major handful with her moods and tantrums. Even my DH-who she has wrapped around her little finger- said he was having a hard time liking her this weekend. We can no longer go to stores because of her fits and we are always walking on eggshells. Praying its just a phase for all of us!

I am not there yet so please excuse if this is a dumb question but- what happens if you ignore her? just pretend not to hear the tantrums? Will it get worse or will she get bored and stop?
