Toes feeling numb while running.
I just started running about 2 months ago. I am up to 2 miles. Lately it feels like after 1 mile my toes start feeling alittle numb. I just bought new running sneakers and got fitted for the right shoes at a specialty store so I don't think its the shoes. I know I run flat footed, and I don't have much of a bounce to my run so wondering if its just bad form.
Anyone experience this? Any tricks to fix the problem? ANd while I am at it, any ideas how to get better form while running? TIA
Oh, and I signed up for my 1st 5K on May 20th. Its to raise money for the school nurse of the high school I work in who is fighting colon cancer

Re: Toes feeling numb while running.
I had this and went to a podiatrist. I was diagnosed with Morton's neuroma. That just means that b/c of my foot shape my nerves between my toes are getting pinched while running. I bought some ball of the foot pads at the drugstore and this has solved the problem for me.
Might be worth a visit to a podiatrist if you can. Just in case.

Re: Toes feeling numb while running.
had this too and lost toenails also.. went up a 1/2 size in my running sneakers so there is more room for foot to expand as you lift off.. problem gone and no more lost toenails.

Re: Toes feeling numb while running.
I had this & it was very painful, to the point that I'd have to stop mid-run... It went away when I got shoes with better arch support, and I haven't had it happen again.

Re: Toes feeling numb while running.
I have had it happen when breaking in new sneakers. If hasn't resolved after a few runs then I would try a different sneaker or maybe going up a size.
Also do you have back problems..where you get pain down your leg? it could be that.
